About

This is a blog.  Essentially it is all my thoughts on J-POP.  J-pop stands for Japanese pop culture, usually as it refers to the entertainment industry more than anything else.  I'm hardly an expert, but I watch a lot of Japanese drama, and I do deeply love KAT-TUN, a Japanese boyband, so I do have some thoughts.  I'll try to make them coherent ones.

I also watch some Korean shows if I think they're good, and I like Big Bang... more I like their music and personality (that is to say, hardly to the level of KAT-TUN).

Most of the people around me can't keep track of all the Japanese names, and now my jdrama friend has moved away, so I decided to finally give up and write this blog instead.  I update it whenever I have a j-pop related thought and I'm near my computer, which, these days, is really all the time.

Some administrative notes.

Contact.  You're welcome to contact me directly if you don't want to leave a comment on the blog.  Like anyone fond of the English language, I like words to be properly and completely spelled (coments like "i lik ur blg" is a sure way to lose any respect I might have had for you).  And, I confess, I'm very much against foul language.  But, other than that, I don't mind at all if you violently love me or hate me, I will try to respond to all comments.

Editing.  Rather than post corrections in new posts, I prefer to edit the old ones.  It's not very blog like of me, perhaps, but I'd rather not make multiple posts on the exact same topic/thought.  Sometimes I'll preserve the original phrasing by striking it out and adding a new sentence.  For example, in this post, I wasn't sure that Koki was an official MC (host) in You! tachi!, but it was clearly mentioned in a later episode, so I changed the original post.  Sometimes I just shamelessly change my mind and rewrite things, as in this post, where most of the second half was rewritten and added.

Icons.  As I noted here, I have taken livejournal icons to use for my tags.  I did not make them.  The credit goes to the LJ user whose username is in the filename.  I've been careful about categorizing them so I know where I got them from.  If you're going to take them, please continue to credit the person who originally made them.

RSS.  This blog has an RSS feed that you can use to install a live bookmark in the browser of your choice.  That way you can see what the latest posts are without actually going to the site itself.  If you don't know what any of that means, don't worry about it.

Linking/citing.  I don't say anything in this blog that I wouldn't say in any public forum if asked.  Admittedly, I don't go around telling all and sundry that lamune is disgusting, but if I were asked for my opinion, I would certainly say so, and firmly.  You're welcome to link or cite away, even if you disagree violently, you lamune-lover you.

Drupal.  This blog was built with Drupal.  If open source content management systems make your heart skip a beat, you've probably already heard of it, if you haven't, no worries, completely ignore this paragraph.  I'm not a professional computer person by any means, but I do really like Drupal, and I am documenting my struggles in this blog.  I'm afraid it's not as consistently written as this blog is, since I tend to get very distracted by the work itself, so it's very much a work in progress.
