I've been watching Anego again, it seemed appropriate just before I leave for LA and Jin's concert. I think I'm loving it more this time around, to my besotted (?) eyes, Jin seems a better actor. In reality, probably my first impression was right, he's wooden, and they tried to give him as few lines as possible (you'd probably have to watch Bandage to get the real story now).
Thinking on it now, I like the story because it lets you see just a little dream... my age isn't so far off from the main character... what would it be like to be pursued by none other than Akanishi Jin? To be thought of as cute and sweet? (which you are, but it's so weird to be told by someone younger).
There's a similar story in Ohitorisama, but I can't like it as much. For one thing, the guy isn't what I would like. He's nervous and shy; a "grass eater", a term for guys that... well, the opposite of macho and confident. He does have a lovely cleverness to him, though. In contrast, Jin's character in Anego grabs his chances.
